Saturday, July 21
Arrive in Calgary, Alberta
Welcome to Calgary! Arrive at the airport and meet your Globus tour director for a group transfer to the hotel. In the evening, we'll kick off the trip with a welcome dinner at the hotel. (Dinner)
Note: Guests need to arrive on the same flight, or at approximately the same time, for the group transfer to the hotel. Individual transfer costs can be quoted separately.
Sunday, July 22
Calgary — Head-Smashed-in Buffalo Jump — Waterton Lakes National Park
Before leaving Calgary, we'll enjoy a tour of the city’s highlights. Then, we'll travel south along Macleod Trail. Just outside the town of Fort Macleod, we'll visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will have time to sketch at your leisure. Next, we'll head to scenic Waterton Lakes National Park, with a photo stop at Cameron Falls. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Monday, July 23
Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park — Glacier National Park — Going-to-the-Sun Road — Whitefish
We'll enter Montana through Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and behold the awesome snowcapped peaks of Glacier National Park. You will have two hours to paint here. Next, a highlight awaits you as you board the famous, vintage, red “Jammer Buses” that will take you along one of North America’s most spectacular highways: Going-to-the-Sun Road. After crossing the 6,664-foot Logan Pass, we'll enter a geographical wonderland of alpine scenery, where jagged mountain peaks, deep-green forests, pristine lakes, and serene meadows dominate the landscape. You'll have time to paint here as well, before arriving at your resort, where you'll enjoy a made-from-scratch piece of huckleberry pie—a delicious treat to end your day. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Tuesday, July 24
Whitefish — Fort Steele, British Columbia — Kootenay National Park — Banff, Alberta
We'll re-enter Canada today, with a stop in British Columbia before crossing into Alberta. We'll visit the restored town of Fort Steele, where fortunes were made during the Kootenay Gold Rush. We'll also drive through the steep, red cliffs of Sinclair Canyon and Kootenay National Park, where we'll stop for a two-hour painting session. Next, we'll enter Banff National Park, the heart of the Canadian Rockies. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Wednesday, July 25
Banff
This morning, we'll enjoy a scenic ride on the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain, with spectacular views of the valley below. There'll be two hours to paint and enjoy a boxed lunch. Additional afternoon sightseeing includes a two-hour painting stop at Bow Falls and a visit to the Hoodoos. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Thursday, July 26
Banff Excursion to Lake Louise
Our trip includes one last highlight: a visit to famous Lake Louise. We'll enjoy time here to paint and relax for a few hours. Then, we'll return to Banff and celebrate the trip's success with a farewell dinner. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Friday, July 27
Depart Calgary, Alberta
The tour ends after breakfast this morning. A group transfer brings you to the Calgary International Airport. (Breakfast)
