DKA Alumni Award
Nominations
You may nominate an alum for a DKA award, to be admitted into the Athletic Hall of Fame, or for Young Alumni Recognition.
The David K. Andrews Distinguished Alumni Award (affectionately known as the DKA Award) recognizes alumni who have rendered outstanding service to others in the spirit and example set by David K. Andrews, who served Principia for several decades in a variety of roles including teacher, coach, principal, headmaster, and president of both Principia campuses. In 1994, Principia recognized David Andrews' many contributions by establishing this notable award in his honor.
Eligibility and Criteria
Upper School or College alumni as well as current or former faculty and staff (if members of the Principia Alumni Association) may be nominated. Individuals must be living at the time of nomination, and they must have performed outstanding service to others over a period of time. The following criteria are also used in the evaluation process:
- active service to the Cause of Christian Science
- demonstration of the highest level of business, professional, and personal integrity and ethics
- distinguished service to Principia and participation in Principia programs
- distinguished professional achievement
- distinguished service to city, state, or nation
The recipient is selected by Principia’s Alumni & Field Relations Office, the Alumni Association Board, and Principia's Board of Trustees. The award is generally given to only one person a year, but it is not necessarily awarded every year. You may also see who has received this award:
